Soreness & Tightness

As your muscles, tendons, and ligaments adjust to their new position, it is possible to experience soreness or tightness throughout areas of your body - from the neck to low back. This is normal as the spine begins to correct.

Water (Hydrate)

Drinking plenty of water will help with any soreness as well as help flush out some of the toxins that will be released as your body shifts into a state of healing. Drink half of your body weight in ounces each day!

Relax (Doctor's Orders)

The spine is in a position that it is not used to, and it has a tendency to slip back into the wrong position, because that's where it has been for so long. Avoid any heavy lifting, especially over the head. "Baby it" for today but pick up your normal routine again tomorrow.

Get Some GOOD Sleep

Your body heals when it sleeps. As your body and nervous system balance and begin to heal, you will notice that your sleep quality will improve!

Some Additional Daily Tips To Maximize Your Chiropractic Results

The spine carries the neurological lifeline from the brain to all other parts of the body. The functional health of the body depends on the flow of an unrestricted nerve system. When your spine suffers, your overall health can suffer too.

Always stand and sit as erect as possible, with your shoulders back, and your head centered directly over the spine.

Do not sit with your legs crossed, except at the ankles.

When you lift, try to bend from the knees and not from the back, keeping your back straight at all times. Hold the weight close to your body as you carry it. Mothers of small children should pay extra attention to this one.

Avoid looking down for prolonged periods of time as it strains the joints that we are working to stabilize. (i.e. Text Messaging)

When you are working out, always make sure you use proper form. Don't injure yourself in an effort to get healthy.
